In case you missed it, our government recently granted immunity from prosecution for some Blackwater cowboys who, while in Iraq, decided to clear the way, using machine guns, for some motorcade or donut run, or something really important. So important in fact, that nearly 20 Iraqi citizens are dead.
Iraq is supposed to be a sovereign nation. Remember, we wrote their constitution, and a horde of purple-thumbed citizens voted in the first real election right after Saddam was overthrown. However, the country’s sovereignty apparently ends where US interests begin.
That’s the only explanation I can think of. That Iraq is really a puppet state, the 51st state in our country. I mean heck, we plan on spending 2.4 trillion dollars there before it’s all over. That’s a cool $21000 per household. You need to get a second (fourth?) job just to pay the bills over there:

So, how is it that we can grant immunity for something that happened in a foreign country? I suppose that’s what 2.4 trillion will buy you, the right to do whatever you want in a new place to call home.
